Hikvision CCTV Systems – Low light cameras

Subject – Hikvision CCTV Systems – Low light cameras – ColorVU 4MP Turret

Hikvision CCTV Cameras have always been the market leader when it comes to night vision technology, but with the recent release of the 4MP ColorVU camera, the game has changed dramatically. Hikvision Security Systems equipped with ColorVU cameras can provide round the clock vivid color images.

Hikvision reports two recent hardware technology breakthroughs providing the powerful ability to capture images in low light conditions boasting an enhanced ability against traditional CCTV Systems. High sensitivity sensors and advanced lenses make night time images appear to be day time. In contrast to conventional lenses found in traditional CCTV Systems, ColorVu lenses are equipped with a super-aperture, reaching up to F1.0, which allows more light to enter the lens so that imaging brightness can be increased.

The amount of light entering the F1.0 aperture is four times that of F2.0.

CCTV Cameras in low light conditions have long suffered from light glare, this causes the cameras to display poor night time images with decreased quality due to bright lights or light level changes within the scene.

Hikvision ColorVu lenses feature board-band anti-reflection (BBAR) coating and extra-low dispersion (ED) optical glass. This reduces light flare and allows the reproduction of image sharpness and color saturation.

The ColorVU camera is suited for residential and commercial CCTV Installation applications where high-resolution color images are required. Extreme light conditions like pitch-black scenes are also catered for in the design process of the low light CCTV Camera, Hikvison has incorporated a warm supplemental LED that illuminates the scene when light levels are too low.

This feature provides environmentally-friendly, soft, warm lighting, reducing any harsh discoloration of the object being illuminated.
